We moved from N. Ireland to Scarborough Ontario Canada when I was 3 I think which would have been 1967.

My parents had already separated by then but they ended up going to Canada at the same time and I think got back together briefly for a time. They divorced not long after.

When I was 10 in 1974 my mother and sister and I immigrated to California. (Thousand Oaks) Where I lived until I was 24 and then moved up to Provo, Utah to go to college and I've been here ever since.

I have not heard from my dad since we left Canada. He has never seemed to have had an interest in communicating. My sister Susan made an effort to contact him about 10 or 12 years ago. He did respond but it seemed to be at the urging of his then wife/girlfriend.

My sister may still have the address that he was at then.

Where do you live? Are you in N. Ireland? We still have lots of family there but also many here in the states.

I’m from Sri Lanka, in the search of my grandmother.

This is my mother’s mother. I have never met her but my mom doesn’t know if she’s alive or not since she has left Sri Lanka about 42 years ago. Grandma has been having issues at home with her mother in law which finally resulted her to leave her family and go abroad. She has come to Sri Lanka several times but she was not allowed to see her 2 children. Hence her family in Sri Lanka doesn’t know if she’s still living.

Thomas my grandfather had left home by this time to join the army.

I know for one of his brother went to Australia and died in a railway acident, while working on the railways.

Notes: Man checked into Quinault area motel in Amanda park, Washington state on 9-15-2001 0r 9-16-2001. Only belongings were his clothes that were on, money, toothpaste and toothbrush. Believed to have arrived by bus. Body was not identified in state of Washington. Believed man may have been depressed or suffering from an illness. Gave the name "Lyle Stevik" upon registering at motel room. "Lyle Stevik" is a character in "You Must Remember This" a book by Joyce Carol Oats. Address given was that of 1019 s. Progress Ave, Meridian Idaho. Came up as a Best Western Rama Inn.
